The replacement of the outdated patio awning with a sleek and motorized pergola roof provides full control of the sun and shade while adding a remarkable architectural feature that harmonizes with the luxurious Boca West surroundings.

The 21 Azenco R-BLADE™ pergola zones, manufactured from sturdy aluminum, were brilliantly assembled with Azenco’s superior gapless louver system. The massive pergola is constructed to withstand the extreme weather in South Florida, and it comes inclusive of a concealed gutter system that channels rainwater away from the dining space below.

Additionally, the custom powder-coated exterior of the pergola blends seamlessly with the interior design specifications of the project. 

Our greatest challenge in designing the pergola zones above the driving bays was to ensure ample space for golfers to move freely. It was a collaborative team effort to turn the architects’ and interior designers’ renderings into a remarkable structure that would meet the rigorous building codes of Boca Raton while satisfying the club’s high-end design requirements.

In order to create vast, unobstructed areas that open onto the driving range, the team had to construct a distinct beam that could allow for support columns to be spaced further apart than usual. The creation of these personalized pergola zones and unique support beam required unparalleled manufacturing proficiency that only Azenco could deliver.

Rooftop Pergola

This architectural rooftop pergola project was all about seamlessly integrating it with the upscale seaside estate. What makes the R-BLADE™ perfect for any pool deck and lap pool is the adjustable roof that lets you control how much shade to get. But it’s not just the functionality that the design team focused on; the color selection was also meticulously picked to ensure the pergola will perfectly blend with the all-white color scheme of the home’s exterior. Azenco’s advanced color-matching technology helped select an exterior powder coating that matched the home’s alabaster white. Once installed on the rooftop, the R-BLADE pergola looks like an original part of the home’s noble architecture.

Creating a rooftop patio cover comes with its unique challenges, especially when it comes to building a custom pergola.

Unlike a ground-level patio cover, attaching a pergola to the roof requires careful planning and execution. When designing a covered rooftop deck, our local dealer¡s design team faced this very challenge. To maximize space and ensure shade for the entire rooftop pool deck, they anchored the pergola columns to an existing perimeter wall. Additionally, custom baseplates and support columns were fabricated to align with the exterior wall. 

The design team worked diligently to ensure that the new pergola blended seamlessly with the home’s existing architecture and style. A key element to achieving this was customizing the height of the pergola’s roof to align perfectly with the home’s roofline. Standing at an impressive height of 8 feet, 9 inches, this pergola boasts a unique design that sets it apart from standard structures while still allowing ample clearance for the pergola pool cover.

Another standout feature of the deck is the pergola roof, which was mounted in a unique way – with the louvers oriented parallel to the lap pool. Not only does this make for a stunning visual effect when the louvers are opened, casting beautiful shadows onto the water below, it also ensures that the deep blue sky of South Florida is visible when the roof is fully opened.

The challenge was to create a seamlessly sweeping pergola system that would cover the main entrance of a club’s footpath. To achieve this, a continuous pergola was created by our local dealer, stretching a massive distance and interconnected through 13 zones. 10 of these zones were uniquely customized to fit the angles of the footpath below. But the real magic was in the construction: the pergola zones were built at four different elevations, giving the global structure a geometric visual appeal that perfectly complemented the new modern aesthetic of the club.
